Radio waves actually bounce on the clouds to your radio on a cloudy day. Radios transmit frequencies of 300 GHz to as low as 3 kHz. The frequencies travel at the speed of light to your device. Unless the frequencies are really loud or low, you won't feel a thing if they pass by you. But they can touch the clouds. The frequencies bounce of clouds, dust particles, and precipitation. But don't get fooled, the wind has no effect on radio signal.

Radio Waves
Have you noticed that on cloudy days, your radio sounds so much clearer? There is actually a scientific explanation!

Brownie in a Mug!
Have you heard of brownie in a mug? It's totally the new cupcake! Nowadays, people have been showing an interest for the so-called "Brownie in a Mug," a tasty life hack (life hacks are things people can do to make life easier using simple things, like using hair combs to hold nails and turning old baby cribs into desks.)
The recipe is really quite simple.
Ingredients necessary:
1/4 cup flour
1/4 cup sugar
2 tablespoons cocoa (unsweetened)
2 tablespoons canola or vegetable oil
3 tablespoons water
Maybe a teaspoon of cinnamon or vanilla extract?
Mix ingredients in your favorite mug using a regular spoon. Microwave on high for 3 minutes. Add
ice cream, if preferred. BÓN APPETÍT!

The Mary Celeste
The Mary Celeste is one of the world's greatest unsolved mysteries ever.
The Mary Celeste was a Canadian-built American-owned merchant brigantine. On November 7th, 1872, the vessel set sail from New York with a Captain Briggs, his wife, his young daughter, and a crew of eight. The ship was sent off with half a year's supply of food and water. They were expected to dock at Italy, but mysteriously, they never came.
Eventually the ship was spotted by fishermen, on December 5th of the same year, floating in the Atlantic Ocean. When investigated, it was found that nobody was left on board, there were no signs of a struggle, and everything but the Captain's log and a lifeboat. Even the valuables were untouched. SPOOOOOOKYYYY. Suspicions are from earthquakes to pirates. A common maritime superstition is that your ship is doomed if there are women (especially wives) on board.
In case you want to visit the ship yourself, that's too bad. The last owner wrecked her off the coast of Haiti purposely in an attempt to commit insurance fraud.

I Like My Octopus Fresh
I'm not one for sushi, but I know tons of people who just love their raw fish (Including my swedish friend, who pops out a can of salmon for lunch all the days she doesn't have swedish meatballs.)
If you think eating raw salmon is hardcore, you've got another thing coming. There is a dish where a live octopus is dismembered (usually before your very eyes), the innards served on a fancy plate, and sesame seeds sprinkled on top of the guts.
Apparently, in Japan, feeding you live fish (or using a fish that was alive a couple minutes before it was on your plate) demonstrates how fresh it is. In fact, there is also a dish where a fish is either deep fried or filleted and somehow kept from going to the light long enough for you to finish your meal. Sometimes, if you want to wait a few minutes before getting seconds, the fish will be returned to the tank to swim around some more before it takes its final flops.

High School Insane Asylum
Teenagers these days have been feeling really stressed lately, am I right?
NO DER! Apparently, current high school students are feeling as stressed anxious as insane asylum patients were in the 1950's. And get this: Most of it is school related. So next time you're scolding little Jimmy for not changing his underwear more than once a week, try and go easy on him, okay?

Night or Day?
Hiya! Today, I'm going to tell you about carbs.
Something that people may think that consuming carbohydrates during the evening is worse for you than in the morning. This is absolutely WRONG! Carbs are carbs, no matter when you eat them. The only reason it would be better for you is because you usually exercise during the day (except for those of you with furry friends that need to be walked at night as well.) When you exercise, those carbs and calories are used to give you energy.

Hiya!
Hiya! It's Ms. Know It All. I just created my blog and I'm hoping I get at least a few page views. The basic thing I'm doing on this blog is posting facts every once in a while, so you can learn a new thing or two. I'll start with a fact right now.
POTATO CHIPS! Potato chips were an accidental invention, yet the accident is so very funny. In 1853, a chef named George Krum in New York invented potato chips. A nagging customer continued to send their french fried potatoes back because they were soggy. The chef was very upset, and to get revenge, he sliced the potatoes too thinly, fried them until they were crunchy, and over salted them. However, to his surprise, he found that the customer actually liked them. Now, we eat them at barbecues and just whenever. Weird, right?
